Description

In 1820 there were 240 public breweries in Scotland . Every town had one or more. By 1840 improved transportation meant the demise of many small rural breweries. The number of breweries shrank but the size of those remaining grew dramatically. Three major cities Glasgow, Edinburgh and Alloa had deep water ports used for exporting products to England, Africa, West Indies, and America. Scottish Ales were in great demand in these parts of the world. The 90 shilling beers now known as Export accounted for most of the beers exported from Scotland.

Brew your own rich, malty Scottish Export at home with this complete 5-gallon ingredient kit. Includes all grains, hops, and yeast for an authentic Highland-style homebrewing experience.
