Description

Complex yeast nutrient

Fermaid K™ is a complex yeast nutrient that contains a blend of assimilable amino acids from inactivated and autolyzed yeast, sterols and unsaturated fatty acids, magnesium sulfate, thiamin, folic acid, niacin, calcium pantothenate, diammonium phosphate (DAP), and inactivated yeast. This blended nutrient assists with many of the fermentation challenges yeast face. The balance of amino acids and ammonia salts can be used to boost YAN. The sterols and unsaturated fatty acids provide important survival factors which are needed for alcohol resistance and sugar uptake. Inactivated yeast act as nucleation sites that help keep yeast in suspension and absorb toxic short and medium-chain fatty acids.

For optimal results, Fermaid K should be used in conjunction with Go-Ferm Protect Evolution™ rehydration nutrient.

Recommended Use:
Fermentation health and security

Recommended Dosage:
25-50 g/hL | 2-4 lbs/1000 gal

Usage:
Fermaid K should be mixed with room temperature water before adding to an active fermentation to avoid CO2 release and overflowing of tanks or barrels. The amount of water used is not critical. Simply add enough to make a slurry.

Storage:
Dated expiration. Store at 18°C (65°F). Once opened, keep tightly sealed and dry.

Note:
For best results, Fermaid K should be used in conjunction with an appropriate yeast rehydration nutrient (such as Go-Ferm Protect Evolution), to assure proper nutrition of cultured yeast from rehydration through completed fermentation. Add 25 g/hL at ⅓ sugar depletion or in two doses; 12.5 g/hL at the end of lag phase and 12.5 g/hL at ⅓ sugar depletion. Please view our Fermentation Management Nutrition Guide for more information.

* Fermaid K contains thiamin. The TTB maximum legal dose for thiamin hydrochloride is 0.60mg/L (0.005lbs/1000 gallons) of juice or wine.
