Description
Cream ales are one of two beer styles indigenous to the United States . Their origins can be traced to the period when all the world except England was caught up in the lighter Pilsner style beers. Breweries not equipped to produce the Lager beers could still approximate their characteristics by modifying the grain bill to produce a beer that was lighter in color and body than it's ale predecessors and even some of the lagers. This is clearly a case of American ingenuity.
