Description
There are two standard strength porters recognized by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). One is the traditional or robust porter. The other is the Brown Porter formerly East Coast (USA) Porter. Our Cold Soak Porter is in the Robust Porter category. Think Boulevard Bully Porter or Anchor Porter. Cold soaking is a method used to increase the flavor and aromatic characteristics of color and flavor grains while at the same time reducing some of the adverse effects of using those same grains. Mashing and/or steeping color and flavor grains can increase astringency and harsh tannic characteristics of those grains.
Bacchus Batches have been developed, tweaked, and argued over for the last 40 years. Our kits feature expertly crafted recipes that cater to a range of tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of hop-forward IPAs, malt-driven stouts, or balanced pale ales, our recipes ensure you brew award winning beer with the freshest ingredients. All kits include grain, yeast, hops, and priming sugar (at no extra cost). Select grain milling at checkout, or drop it in the notes section. When shipping a kit, it is highly recommended to purchase an ice pack with an insulated shipper to ensure yeast health.
